Give Peace A Chance

Tuesday, September 21, is Peace One Day, a holiday to promote non-violence around the world. English actor/filmmaker Jeremy Gilley had the idea to create the holiday and started traveling around the world to visit with government leaders and schools. In 2001, the United Nations adopted September 21 as Peace Day. On the 21st at 3 p.m. eastern time (noon pacific time), you can click here to join a live chat on the Scholastic Web site about peace. If you spread the message of peace by wishing a happy Peace Day to 10 people and they each spread the word to 10 more people and each of those people spread the word to 10 more people, how many people will that be in total (including you)?

There will be 1,111 people in total included in wishing a happy Peace Day!

Congrats to Kristen A. You are our winner of the week!
