Scholastic News Sticky Situation • January 11, 2010

Michelle’s mom is taking Michelle and her friend Kendra to the mall. Michelle is going to buy a pair of roller shoes. Kendra really wants to get a pair too, but her mom doesn’t think they’re safe and says Kendra is not allowed to have them. Kendra wants to purchase a pair while she’s at the mall with Michelle. What should Kendra do?

Is she going to listen to her mom or her friend? Kendra should listen to her mom and say to her friend,"My mom says that I shouldn't so I really shouldn't." Or she could say,"You know I don't think these are safe."

well, just by looking at them, think they are coll and all ,but i think its best that she listens to her mom and not buy them.(If you want them really bad, try to show your mom that you can handle it and you never know if she might give them to you for a presant.)

I think that Kendra should not by any of them because what if she need that money for something else then should will not have any money. I also think that Kendra should talk to her mother to get her all the things she needs to wear on her before buying the rolling skates. Or call her if she could by them.And also listening to her mom.

Kendra should not purchase the shoes if her mom says no because if Kendra goes home with the shoes her mom will get her in big trouble and Kendra will have to exchange them. It is not worth it to take the shoes with her

I think Kendra should either call her mom and try to persuade her to allow her to buy it OR she could just not buy it at all and wait until she's somewhat older. Maybe when Kendra's at the mall with her own mother, she could try and convince her mom if she could buy it. Tell her that she'll wear a helmet and all that safe stuff.

I think Kendra should listen to her mom and and not buy the roller skates beacause if she does buy them she is not listening to her mom. I think Kendra should first ask then buy it.And if her mom says no she should understand. Her mom is saying it for her own good. I would listen to my parents and not buy it without permission. If she does buy it her mom would not trust her anymore after she even said no. So I think Kendra should listen to her mom and ask and then buy them.

kendra needs to obey her mom because one day she wont be there to help make the right decision!!!! so she dosen't need to get the rollar blades!!!!
