I celetebrate Veterans Day by sometimes making posters and playing fun games with my family to remember my uncle, I think. He died at war. :(
It is so much fun!

Our school hosted a special chapel led by our 5th graders. It included some basic information about the history of Veteran's Day, singing patriotic songs, and a message from a former Air Force chaplain. We recognized veteran's who attended with lots of applause (and coffee and muffins afterward!). My students really enjoyed sharing stories about their family members who have served in the military, too - it was a great time for national pride!

In our school, we have a Veteran's Day celebration. We have chorus sing many songs about the military, have a Veteran's Day essay contest, and we had many guest speakers. They told us about how it is when you are at war, and about the American Dream. I loved singing the songs America the Beautiful and God Bless the U.S.A. When we sang that, everyone stood up and sang with us. Since the 6th grade left, we got students from the East High School to proform for us when the veterans came into the cafeteria and when they left. We also had a presentation about how we should really appreciate the veterans who have gone to war for us.

The president of my grade was walking down with the Veterans. So was the secratary, Treasurer and all the other ones. I started crying during the slide show at the end. While we were singing I'm Proud To Be An American, everyone stood up! That's everyone in the chorus's favorite song. So we were all quiet for the other songs but really loud for the last song (I'm Proud To Be An American) That was my favorite.
