My teacher let me use his account to type this in, but my school raised money for Darius Weems who won one of these Children's Nobel Prizes! We raised over two thousand dollars and Darius and the rest of the people from the Darius Goes West documentary came to our school to visit. They were really funny and inspiring!

I DON'T THINKL WE SHOULD HELP NOW SINCE WE HAVE A NEW PRESEANT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO TRY A NEW DUTY!

I really liked this article. I didn't know that those awards existed, so it was very interesting.

Ms. Towery's Class

Our class has helped our community by raising money for children with cancer, recycling, collecting box tops. We also participated in a canned food drive to help a local food pantry, and read books to benifit Classroom Cares through Scholastic.

Our school helps a lot of people! We raise money for the AIDs orphans in Africa. We also put on events for them. We all like to help the orphans. I perssonally like the fact that kids can get "Nobel Prizes" too. I think that it should not just be adults, even though they do great things. Kids can too! If any of the "Nobel Prize" winners read this Blog, CONGATULATIONS! I hope that kids can keep up the good work.

Our school is rasing money with a project called 'Sports for Support' We made our sponsor, and we kick, run, throw or surve. It is most same as 'hoops for support' Our school's 6-8 graders are in this project. We are going to help a small country in Africa that is having a problem with AIDS.

Sam

Our school is helping by having an activity call 'Sports for Supports'.
we run, kick, throw and surve and each lap, kick, throw and surve we get money.
I think we can have activities like this and have raise money. when we keep raising money like this we can raise lots of money and I think that can solve world's most challenging problems.

Children’s Nobel Prizes Awarded

On November 14, 2008, 2 children from America were awarded the Nobel Prize for raising $10 million for 48 states in the US and 19 other countries. They raised the money by having a trick or treat where kids would trick or treat for coins along with getting candy. Their goal was to raise $1 million dollars, but they actually raised $10 million. Talia said that she thought that raising $1 million was too much, but as the money reached over a million, she realized that once you achieve a goal, you do more than you expected. This money went to Africa, for water pumps, 500 hospitals in Iowa, and for the victims of the hurricane Rita and Katrina. Talia never thought that it would be as successful as it has become.
She rocks!!

Our school is raising money for the children in Zambia which their parents died from AIDS. That's called 'Sports for Support'. Everyone in grade 6-8 have to participate in this. We have to find sponsors and raise money.
