I feel bad that hillery clinton did not win. i think she is the best candidate, but its still really cool that obama will be the candidate.

The race is finally over. While I'm very upset with the outcome, it is what it is. Personally, I thought that Sen. Clinton was much more qualified and had more experience to take the position of President of the United States. She has been working for women and children for over 35 years. Also, she graduated from the high school that I now go to and used to live a few blocks away from me!
I think that the Democrats are going to have trouble uniting the party come November. Right now, they are pretty much split in half and that is not good for Sen. Obama. If only half of registered Democrats vote for Obama because the other half are still Clinton fans, and all Republicans and some Democrats vote for McCain, he will be the President.
I really hope the Obama chooses Clinton to be the VP. He needs to rely on her experience in the White House, and he also needs her supporters to back him.
But, like everything else in this long Democratic contest, only time will tell.
Have a good day everyone!

I think the extended contest was good because it gave people more time to make their choice. I have learned that the nominee for each party can either be selected through a long process - like in the case of the Democrats - or a short one like in the case of the Republicans. As a kid reporter, I got the privilege of seeing Senator Clinton, Senator McCain and Senator Obama all speak at rallies and town hall meetings. It was a grreat experience to see what all their opinions were and what they thought the problems were in the US and how they would take of them if they became president. I am looking forward to following the race and seeing who our next president will be and covering more events during the campaign.

After over a year of campaigning in almost every state, the historic race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama has come to a close. Together these two Democrats received over 34 million votes and raised over $400 million for their campaigns. They have come closer to the presidency than any other woman or African American candidates before them. We can be sure that historians, politicians, and everyday Americans will study this primary season for years to come.
Senator Obama’s clear victory is a sign that Democrats are looking for change in November and have found it in him. The battle lines are now being drawn in swing states and the General Election is about to begin.
Many Democratic leaders are now floating the idea of a Hillary Clinton vice-presidency, even though she did not concede defeat in last night’s speech, as many predicted she would. Although a Clinton vice-presidency may help pacify her enthusiastic supporters, there are signs that Democrats are already uniting. Some recent polls show Obama doing well in a head-to-head matchup against John McCain.
The next five months should be very interesting to watch as both parties prepare for some hardball politics as they navigate the twists and turns on the road to the White House.

It's been a long journey for Obama and Clinton. Congratulations to Senator Obama. Senator Clinton did a good job too. This is what makes America so special: that anyone is free to run for president. It doesn't matter if you're a woman or a man, or the color of your skin. Also, it's been so much fun to cover the election 2008. I learned so much. The election isn't over and it's going to be a very close race between McCain and Obama, and it's going to be even more exciting!!! :D

I think that Barack Obama should win b/c he reaches all types of races, ages and ethincities. He's the only canidate that knws wats right 4 r counrty, cuz he actually went through it. Instead, like some other canidates that just watch it on tv. He has a vision and dream for us that he's already been through and knws wat we neeed. So open up ur eyes, do u want 100 more years in Iraq or a canidate that runs, lives and breathes the country?

Hi America! Ifeel sad that Hillary go t kicked out of the big race. I think everyone had a good chance of winning from the begining. I am proud of Hillary for running for president. I am also proud of Obama for beeing the first African American for beeing a nominie for the Demicratic partie. I thank parents for voting for all canidates. I think our country is time for a change.

Go Obama!!

After I read this article about Barack Obama I am very proud to be an African-American in this time and day. It is very rare for an African American to be a nominee for the president. This is is a major part in history and only 2,118 votes for delegates he needed to get there. I am very proud.

The 2008 Presidential election will be one of the most historic events in our nation’s history. One thing that this race has taught us is that America is clearly ready for a change.
Senator Barack Obama fought long and hard against his rival Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Their battle for the Democratic Nomination has lasted over several months. The race was tremendously close that it came down to the final states to determine who the winner was.
I believe that it is an important step for African American people. Also Hillary Clinton received the most votes ever for a female candidate.
I was very fortunate to cover the race this year. My assignment was to cover the 20th Democratic Presidential Debate at Cleveland State on February 26, 2008. It was a pivotal moment in both campaigns because so much was riding on the outcome of the Ohio voters. The atmosphere was definitely intense and exciting.
Now the Democratic Party is united once again as they get ready to take on Senator John McCain and the Republican Party. May the best man win.
