i don't think it was fair. the voters from Michigan and Florida only get half a vote because of some random rule? that doesn't make sense.

i think they should have just done the primaries over in those states.

I do not feel that Sen. Hilary Clinton was treated fairly in Michigan. I understand that Hilary Clinton offered to pay for another election to be held in Michigan but the Obama supporters did not want to accept this offer. This would have been the only fair thing to do so that we can find out who won and how many delegates Hillary received. I think Hilary should be the democratic nominee because she has won all the important states. I was not happy to see Hilary losing without people voting in Michigan

The people in Florida should be represented and so should the people in Michigan. I do not understand why the super delegates have so much power in deciding who the nominee is. Hillary won the majority of the popular vote therefore, she should be the democratic leader.

I think the Florida and Michigan votes should count! and not just half. The cnn commentator in the story was right, but just giving htem half a vote is still changing the rules. If you are going to go that far, go all the way.

my parents voted in florida and their votesw should count

it shouldn't be up to the parties to decide whose vote counts and whose vote doesn't count. that doesn't seem fair to me. why dont' both parties have to go bhy the same rulesA?

My response to the Democratic National Committee’s decision to give Michigan delegates half votes at the convention is simply that it’s unfair. I know that the Michigan democratic committee broke the rules in making our primaries early, but that was a decision by the political leaders, not the people of Michigan. Do Michigan citizens have to pay for someone else’s mistakes? They don’t pick when the primaries happen.

Getting a half-count isn’t the harshest punishment. In the beginning the DNC said that the votes from delegates in Michigan and Florida wouldn’t be counted. Michigan delegates are lucky to get a count at all. I don’t think the politicians in Michigan who pushed to have the primary early thought that the campaign for the Democratic candidate would go on so long. I don’t think anybody expected it. But it has. It’s too bad Michigan delegates get half votes.

I was interested in what Senator Obama would have to say about the DNC’s decision. I was able to ask him today when he appeared at a Town Hall meeting at Troy High School, in Troy, Michigan. His response, when I asked if he thought it was unfair: “Well I think that it was a compromise. Based on the fact that the Democratic National Committee felt like Michigan had broken the rules and so that they need to be penalized in some way. Hopefully that’s something that we can put behind us. Now everybody’s going to be focused on trying to win the election in November.”

He’s probably right. In the long run, people won’t even care about the half votes once it comes time for the general election.

I think it was very right for the DNC to come to that compromise. Anyone who breaks the rules should be penalized. For example, if you're playing kickball and someone cuts in front of you in the line-up, that person should be put in the back of the line, and have not as many opportunities as the fair and good players have. Likewise, Michigan and Florida cheated, so they are being punished. It's too darn bad that they are in trouble, but I don't want their spokespeople going around with a frown on their faces.

Sorry, buddies, you didn't obey.

Lesson to learn: Adults make mistakes. Hopefully the future's adults don't make the same mistakes.

John

I think they did a good job, because whoever breaks the rules should be punished. So, I think DNC did a good job.
