We're Finally Here!
Hello scholastic readers this is Rylee and Brock here in Denver Colorado for the Democratic National Convention (DNC). We had some major struggles getting to the NBC compound. First, we had to find Suzanne Freeman, who was wandering the crazy streets of downtown Denver in the 91 degree weather.
Eventually we found her. Our next obstacle was finding a parking space. After 10-15 minutes of searching we found a spot! It took us about 20 minutes to find the entrance to the Pepsi Center area where security was screening for credentials. We didn't have any yet.
A runner for NBC had to bring us the credentials. It was at least 1/2 mile walk for him!
Finally we were inside the security fence, but we weren't done yet! We still had to walk all the way to the NBC compound, which is a white tent in the parking lot of the Pepsi Center. Right next to where we parked, except we couldn't come in that way!
When we arrived a sense of relief fell over us. Now we are blogging to you and breathing in this wonderful place and amazing experience (and drinking a lot of cool sodas since it was so hot!)
Oh, yeah. We ran into the legendary Dan Rather, former anchor of CBS, who was kind enough to stop for a picture. We also had our pictures taken with an elephant and a donkey on Segways. Funny!!!!
