Obama Accepts Nomination

El08blog_obamaaccepts By Kid Reporter Jack Greenberg

After looking back on his past 47 years of his life, after only a short introdction of any kind, Sen. Barack Obama offically accepted the nomination for the Democratic Party for the U.S. Presidency.   Obama, a junior Senator from Illinois, declared his acceptance in front of a crowd of about 75,000 Thursday at Denver's Invesco Field.

Obama opened up with a firm aceptance, but then went on to thanking former rival Hillary Rodham Clinton, Former President Bill Clinton, VP PICK Joe Biden, and finally, his lovely wife, Michelle.

Obama than went on to the issues, such as the enviornment.  "We will no longer be depenedent on foreign oil in ten years," Obama proclaimed .

When on to health care, he shared a story of when his mother was suffering from overion cancer.  Obama stated how she was more concerned arguing with health insurance than herv own care.

He took time to rip Republican Rival John McCain.  "He has voted with George Bush 90% of the time.  We don't want a 10% chance of change.  On economy, he promised tax relief for 95% of Americans.  He than concluded with bringing his wife, two daughters, Joe Biden, and his wife Jill on stage, and watched the fireworks explode above their heads.  And with that, the 2008 Democratic National Convention concluded.  S o stay with Scholastic  for 2008 Republican Nationional Conventional Coverage with Micheal Geheren, Daysha Peterson, Aaron and Ben Siberman, and me, Jack Grenberg!

I like Obama. His tax relief idea is great, but how will he pay for that and all of the other programs he wants to make? Obama wants to give everybody everything, and who will pay for that? OUR GENERATION! But still, I think that John Mcain is WAY TOO OLD!!!! GO BARACK OBAMA

Also: GO MIZZOU!!!!!!!!

Denzel Hardy

Barack Rulez

laura

Many people belive that mMccain is too old to run,but is that accurate? Even though most of our presidents have been younger than mcmain, it doesnt mean that he is incapable of running a good term.as a youth he served our nation full heartedly,to the point of beeing tortured . he has scars that he is proud of instead of trying to be the most hansome. If adults cant see right from wrong then who are we to look up to? To me the most resonable and affectionet person for our country is Mccain and Palen. GO THE MOST CAPABLE NOT THE MOST POPULAR!!!!

Cody.

I HOPE McCAIN WINS!!!!!!!!
HAHAHA

I think Obama made a bad choice by picking Joe Biden as his vice president.

Nicole

I watched the his acceptance speech and was very impressed. My whole family gathered in the living room after setting our alarms for that very moment. I do think he needs some new material for his speeches because his jokes and stuff are getting old. He seemed to have more people watching that McCain and on CNN, they even said people stopped in time square just to hear him speak. In my opinion the Democrats had a truly fun time and the Republicans had a less interesting convention. Barak Obama should have picked someone else as his running mate but not Hilary. WE CAN WIN WITH THEM AND WITHOUT THEM!!!

Marielle

Barack Obama should be our next president because he has some GREAT ideas...

Drew

John McCain has great ideas.
